Official Application Rules - 2009/2010

  1. An independent committee will select 12 homeowners this year who will receive a FREE furnace. The installation will include a standard furnace and the upgrade of any code violations.
  2. To qualify you must fill out an official Warm The Heart application.
  3. Applications must be received by December 31, 2009. Any applications received after that date will not qualify for this year's program.
  4. To qualify you must own and live in the house that is being submitted on the application.
  5. Please fill out the application in its entirety - the more information you supply, the easier it will be for the selections committee to qualify your need.
  6. Once all the entry forms have been submitted and reviewed, the selection committee will prioritize the applications - you may receive a phone call or visit to your home so we can verify your need.
  7. All applicants will be notified in writing or by phone of their status by January 30, 2010.




Limits and Liability

Participants (and family members of such participants) in the recruitment of applicants and/or the selection of needy homeowners may not apply for, and are not eligible or entitled to receive a free furnace. In addition to the foregoing, any members of the selection committee, employees of public and not for profit agencies which are involved in the program and all Warm The Heart fund sponsors and contributors including but not limited to, vendors to the program, are not eligible to participate in the program.

Completion and submission of this application does not and shall not be deemed to entitle any applicant to receive a free furnace or any other benefit from the Warm The Heart fund or any of its sponsors or contributors including but not limited to Horizon Services, Inc., Delmarva Power, Valero Delaware City Refinery, Catholic Charities, the City of Wilmington, New Castle County or any other volunteers or vendors to the Warm The Heart fund. No such contributor, sponsor or volunteer shall have, or be deemed to have, any legal or other liability to any application connection therewith.
